Downtown Aquarium & Aquarium Restaurant at Night - Houston, Texas!
On this trip, we visited the Downtown Aquarium and restaurant on a Friday night. This was our first time visiting the Downtown Aquarium at night and eating at the restaurant.
We booked a 6:15 pm reservation at the Aquarium Restaurant. We were surprised when we checked for an available table on the same day, at about 4 pm, that there were open tables for the night!
When we got there, we headed up the stairs to the restaurant. The staircase was very cool, and went around a large fish tank on the way up. When we got upstairs, we were seated. The entire wall on the other side of us was an Aquarium. We liked the atmosphere and watching the sharks and fish as we ate. After dessert, we left the restaurant and headed down to the Aquarium.
There are different experiences at the Aquarium, where you can go on the Shark Voyage Train, pet Stingrays, enjoy rides, or walk through the main Aquarium. They are each separate, and you must buy a pass for each, or you can buy an all-day adventure pass. We decided to only go through the main Aquarium on this trip as it was getting late.
We have been to the Aquarium a few times before, but this was our first time in the evening, and it was lovely! It was less crowded than usual; only a few other people were there. The Aquarium is beautiful, but it is somewhat of a smaller exhibit, so if you’re looking to spend all day here, you might want to do other attractions too.
We enjoy the Downtown Aquarium, and we think you will too! Coming at night made it a pleasant, peaceful visit where we could take our time to stop and look at everything. Be sure to check out our YouTube video of this trip!
